‘Sculptunes’ is a series of interactive multi-sensory installations that are designed with and for early years children. Each piece invites the early years child to explore sound, colour, texture, visual dexterity and sound making through actions and movement. Each component is trialled and tested with early years children and early years educators. The design for each piece changes in response to the interaction and engagement of children, babies and their families.

I am continuing to develop new ‘Sculptune’ works in collaboration with early years children and interested musicians. The National Concert Hall support my work with early years children.

'Sculptunes' is available to visit creches and other early years initiatives. Visits consist of 1 an hour long workshop that explores the different textures of sound, rhythm and world musical instruments using every pore of our bodies.

'Sculptunes' and Cruinniú na nÓg

'Sculptunes' sound workshops have taken place in the city centre with Ard Sunflower Creche and in Charleville Mall Library with the national College of Ireland's early years initiative.

An exhibition of 'Sculptunes' can be played with in The National Concert Hall on Saturday 15th June from 10am to 12.30pm. Please note that I will need to limit the sounds created by 'Sculptunes' during the under 5's concert at 11am to noon at the NCH. The under 5's concert 'Fergal is Fuming' with the London Symphony Orchestra Ensemble.

I would like to thank DCC Arts Office for their continued support of 'Sculptunes'.
